Effective with Database Edition 0009 and Avendex Version 1.5, users may study weather data related to most (97%) of the birding events included in the Avendex data file.
How does it work? When preparing a new database edition for Avendex, special software compares each birding event to a database of over 3.5 MILLION weather reports from eight different weather reporting stations located in North and South Carolina.
If multiple stations have weather information for the same event, then the station that is closest to the birding event is used.
Avendex also provides weather information for about five days prior to the first day of the birding event.
You can also access (via a popup menu) weather reports for different times of day! By default the weather report closest to 10am is displayed, but you can easily look at reports for other times during the same day. Only weather reports falling within a 6am-6pm range are included.
